Hi guys,

I’ve been reading on this forum for a while now and I think it’s really useful. Thank you for having such a great community.

I hope you can help me with the following, as I couldn’t find it (not on google, not on this forum).

I have CT scans of distal radius fractures. 2 things that I want to do:

  1. Measure the volume of a fracture fragment
  2. Measure the % of surface involved in a certain slide

Even with BoneJ, I’m not even coming close to these two.

Could you please point me in the right direction?

This is trivial once you’ve segmented the fracture fragment. That usually involves some kind of painting / magic wand. What my group does is to black out the bones not of interest, then threshold the remaining piece and using Volume Fraction - that will give you BV (bone volume), which you want, and also TV (total volume) and BV/TV (volume fraction), which won’t make sense for your images.

I’m not clear what you want to measure here, could you elaborate, perhaps with an image?
