Fiji Menu Bar Position

#1

Hi All,

I have just started using Fiji, and I am beginner.
Is it possible to set menu bar on the top of the screen in Windows like OS X?
On Mac OS X, the menu bar can be fixed on the top of the screen (as with all OS X applications). https://imagej.net/Getting_Started

Best regards,

Hi @bigtree,

I’m afraid this is not possible. This is a decision developers of the operating system made: in Windows, there is in general no menu on top of the screen. This is not in our hands.

But nevertheless, enjoy using Fiji! If you need any further help, just let us know here in the forum.

Cheers,
Robert

If it’s just about getting quick access to the menu when other windows are hiding it, I recommend the shortcut Enter to bring the IJ main window up to the front.

Alternatively, you can enable the IJ window always on top option in Edit > Options > Appearance…, I but in my opinion this having the toolbar always floating on top is a little too disruptive.
